Yesterday was a big appointment day for the family. Ashlin had his annual checkup and some catchup vaccines. He had to get two shots and he is still sore from them. He’s a real trooper. I also had an appointment, but mine was with the dentist. I got two fillings, which means that I also had to get a big needle stuck into my mouth twice. I hate needles, especially in my mouth. But at least my toothache is gone now. And they now use these white plastic fillings instead of the old metal ones. Ashlin’s doing fine and he only needs a couple more shots before school this year. Heather will have to post his current specifications. She took him to the doctors, while I went to work.
In other health news, it finally (knock on wood) appears that we are all getting over our month-long illnesses. Now if we can only stay healthy…

Hello all,
Thank you everyone who has created a user and started commenting. For everyone that hasn’t, I have created a step-by-step walkthrough of the process. Just click on the ***Need help with this site?*** link on the top right under the “Pages” header. This will walk you through the process.
I’d make it easier if I could, but the internet is plagues by spam. Spammers love to put their garbage on blogs and message boards so their site can show up higher on Google. Because of this we have to do a complicated login process to make sure you are people and not a computer program. For this reason as well, I have to screen your first post. I think any subsequent post by you goes right up, but I may be wrong on that. Either way, I check back here often, so I will screen them as soon as I can.

It seems like Ashlin and Heather are finally getting better. We kept Ash out of Head Start for 2 days because he got REALLY sick on Sunday (in the middle of the play). But he went to school today and is eating close to normal and is very chipper. I, on the other hand, appear to be coming down with something again. I’m all sneezy and stuffy. Such is parenthood.

So Ashlin got really sick halfway through the play today. I had to take him home. We spent most of the afternoon in the bathroom. It appears he caught what Heather caught. Poor guy. But he’s been a real trooper. I only hope that this will be the last illness that the three of us see for a while.
The play was awesome. You can see pictures here. I’ll be posting a movie of one of Heather’s solos when I get a chance as well.
Grammie and Grandpa had a good but short visit with us. They decided to come up after all after they had Zeke put down. The needle had gotten into his liver and he hadn’t eaten in over a week. I will be posting some pics of their visit soon as well.

As most of you may know, in January we moved to a new apartment. We are all moved in and depite a few boxes here and there are all settled. We moved from Deer Isle to Stonington, which is on the same Island but is now downtown.
This has move been a blessing for us. Our new house has way more space and a full attic. Ashlin has his own room and we have a living room and office! We are also in walking distance of two of our three jobs so we are saving a lot on gas. The house is warm which is nice since the last two places we were in wer very cold. Heat is included in the rent.
Ashlin has been adjusting to the new house pretty well. He likes his room and enjoys (much to our chagrin) running from one end of the house to the other. Occaisionally he says he misses the old house, but on the whole I think he is very happy to be where we are.

This weekend will be an exciting one for us. Heather is playing Adelaide in a community production of Guys and Dolls. Grammie and Grandpa are coming up to see it. Heather has acted in the community theater but this is her first lead role. She will sing four solos in the play. Ashlin and I are very proud of her and are looking forward to the play.

Ashlin has been amazing us lately with his aptitude for art. Not only have his drawing and writing skills immensly improved but he has also shown an affinity for sculpture. He is currently taking private art classes with a few other children once a week. Here are three self portraits he did, the two on the left are from 3/4 and the one on the right is from 1/31. In the middle one there is a rainbow.
