Yesterday, Ashlin, Grandpa, Heather and I went to the annual folk festival in Bangor. Heather, Ashlin and I have gone for the last few years. We had a lot of fun. We got to go to the different vendors and get some good food. We also watched a great blues singer, Robert Belfour, perform. After that we went to the children’s area where we saw the Chinese Folk Art Workshop, which was a group of children doing traditional dances with swords and dragon costumes. Ashlin really enjoyed the show. Then we got to go the Bangor Discovery booth where Ashlin made a mask of an elephant. Ashlin really wanted to see the flea circus, but they weren’t doing it while we were there.

Ashlin’s coming home today! Grandpa is bringing him in the truck. Grandpa will be staying for the weekend. Heather and I are excited. Two weeks is a long time to be without the little guy. Of course, he goes to school a week from Tuesday
Anyhow, I’ll try to get Ashlin to put up a post about his vacation.

Ashlin is currently in his second week of vacation, visiting Grammie and Grandpa. I got to go up last weekend and visit with him and Auntie & Dustin, GG & Gramp, Grammie & Grandpa and Aunt Kathy. There was a big old home day celebration thing on Saturday. They had rides and lots of booths and free food. It was a lot of fun. Ashlin got is face all painted up like a tiger.
Last week Heather’s sister Meghan came to visit us. We had a great visit with her. This fall we are hoping to go out to Ohio to visit Heather’s dad and Meghan. Heather’s dad hasn’t been able to come up here to visit Heather during the summers like he has in the past because his wife’s health has been declining.
In a couple weeks, Ashlin goes into Kindergarten
Unlike when Heather and I were kids, they do full day kindergarten, which is a little nerve-racking. Having him in Head Start this past year though, was a good intermediate preparation. This past fall Ashlin went in a couple of times to visit with the Kindergarten class and meet the teachers. There is also a preparatory ting a few days before school starts where he will get to try out the bus and a few other things.
As he is going to school this year Ashlin needs a few things. Grammie was able to get him some new clothes and we have been working on getting him clothes as well. I will try to put a list up here to give you ideas if anyone wants to get anything to help with the back-to-school shopping.

I will get better at updating, I promise…really.
This past weekend, we went to visit Grammie & Grandpa. GG and Gramp were there it was a nice quick whirlwind trip. Ashlin is having a 2-week vacation there, which should be a lot of fun for him. Heather’s sister, Meghan is also visiting us for the week. We are really excited about this because we havent seen here in a couple of years. Next weekend there is a big party at my parents house, or sort of. All sorts of family are getting together.
